Throughout Australia, we like our horse racing & we figured we’d disclose Aussie’s biggest or possibly most popular event, The Melbourne Spring Festival. Sit back and be entertained as we guide people through Victoria’s largest race within Australia, showcasing Aussie stars of Aussie Turf and of course the trainers with jockeys at the center of this unbelievable industry. This is Melbourne’s finest thing for punters to grab their money’s worth.

Once we finally get over Derby Day & by god it’s an enormous race, we prepare ourselves for the day that stops a nation, The Melbourne Cup. Ever since the commencement of the race, the stories of Archer being paced down from Sydney to challenge the Trophy & who won the first two runnings of it to boot, Aussies have been engrossed. Melbournians even get a public holiday to celebrate!

The love experience that was Makybe Diva & the Aussie residents was something to be admired. Makybe Diva was why punters continued to go to the track. To win 3 Melbourne Cups in succession is something that we maybe won’t ever happen again. What about the awe Aussies got when Dermot Weld came away and took the Cup back to Ireland back in ‘93 with Vintage Crop. Or conceivably when he tried it again in ‘02 with Media Puzzle. What about Sheila Laxon triumphant with Ethereal, or maybe the likeable Might And Power and Doriemus photo finish. The rain came down back in ‘74 and Van Der Hum took it home.

And then maybe there was Bart. JB Cummings. The Cup’s King. The man who has trained the Melbourne Cup hero a lazy eleven times. With horses such as Light Fingers, Galilee, Think Big (twice), Hyperno, Let’s Elope and Saintly winning for him in the past. In 2008 punters and bookies alike were expecting Viewed could do it for the Cup Kings & make that dull 11 a decent dozen across the mantle and who would have though the soon to be eighty year old would as a matter of fact achieve it. Well completed Bart, you are doubtlessly the king of the Turf.

We will also not forget the hot water Luca Cumani and 2nd spot winner Bauer landed in after it was evident the horse received shockwave therapeutics, not allowed within seven days of the Melbourne Cup. The chaos was remarkable, especially after it was discovered an RVL selected vet conducted the therapeutics. This is by far the biggest horse racing event in Australia.
