Christmas day is an exciting moment for British kids; they have heard the spectacular tales of St. Nicholas and the reindeers and the special day of the 25th of December. Through out the build up, kids are on toy websites and in toy catalogues searching high and low for the very latest and most sought after toy for them to put at the top of their Xmas list. At school and pre school the very hottest topic is what action figure they will be asking Mr and Mrs Claus and if he may deliver them more board games than their peers. Picking the best girls toys can be easy with the range of life-like baby dolls.
Each Xmas time the market researchers and toy stores start making their guesses about what action figure will be the number one greatest seller for that Xmas time. In past years the UK have seen the Nintendo DS and the Tamagotchi coming in at the top.
One of the predicted toys is from the eye-opening Ben 10 range. Ben 10 is a cartoon from America and is about a boy called Ben who happens upon a spectacularly weird alien watch like item that holds itself onto Ben’s wrist and provides him with tremendous extra ordinary powers. With his alien powers, Ben helps others as well as get into some fun mischief with his lovely cousin Gwen. With the marvellous success of the children’s cartoon, a full range of great children’s action figures have been created, these include action figures and video games.
Another famous seller this Christmas period will be children’s board games, one of the most world famous being Monopoly. Loosely based on the economic idea of a company owning everything in their market, Monopoly is a fascinating family board game that is mega popular that over 750 million people have played the family friendly board game. Right through its brilliant 100 year lifespan, the adult and children’s board game has seen it move into a website game format, computer game format and even an iPhone application.
Whilst sales forecasting are informative the real unit sales will tell us what video game was the greatest seller this Christmas period.
