Virgin Media Launches “VH D” Set-Top Box
Virgin Media latest offering is a new set-top box called the V HD. This is after its steady increase of HD channels.
Virgin will be now offering the V HD set-top box to new subscribers to its ‘M+’ TV tier. It is being offered at a one time cost of £ 49 and an installation fee of £ 35. Additionally, current customers can also avail these services if they are willing to upgrade to the required tier.
The set-top box was launched on March 22, 2010. With efficient power usage of over 95% in standby mode, the set-top box is an energy conserving smart device. It is 3D ready and also equipped with the additional requisite features such HDMI, SCART, USB and Ethernet ports.
Virgin Media is giving an option of a free installation kit called the Quick Start for its existing customers who are comfortable with a do it yourself installation procedure from 1 April onwards. For customers who need assistance, it is an extra charge of £15. This offer is only available for the month of April, after which the regular charges of £15 will be applicable.
Virgin Media’s subscribers to the XL TV package already receive all HD channels on offer as part of the package. Virgin Media latest HD channel for its customers is the SCI FI HD. It is now planning to broadcast the World Cup 2010 through either ITV1 HD or BBC HD from April 2.
