Hailing from New Jersey, Mr Nicholas Bredimus united the worlds of software, hospitality, and airlines and revitalized all three areas of business. This renaissance man has become a standout in a number of fields, from the high value home industry via the essentials of safety in the air to software programs to help with time management. You could have foreseen, of course, that with his family tree he was sure to reach prominence. Drawn together from many nationalities, his family traces to the time of ancient Rome, with his mother’s branch based in Germany and Scotland. An equally varied blend dominates his father’s side; before emigrating near the end of the nineteenth century, Bredimus’ forerunners dwelt in Luxembourg and England. Even after their arrival in the U.S.A, they kept their immaculate work ethic and zeal to survive and thrive. Born one of seven children — four girls and three boys — Nicholas was blessed with a father who worked as a mechanical design engineer, and a mother who worked as a nurse. He went on to live in Texas, Arizona, Kansas City and Virginia.

He’s stepped up to the challenge of prominent roles with businesses throughout the air travel industry — the bulk of them highly acclaimed brands. Among these was included the vice presidential role for Republic Airlines, Hughes Airwest, and, of course, Trans World Airlines (TWA). A hard working software designer, Bredimus’ creative work with airline computer programs is arguably his greatest gift to the industry. His insight into airplane maintenance programs, typical now throughout the entire airline sector though originally produced for US Airways, ultimately resulted in what is probably his most popular creation. But this stands as just one of his major innovations for airlines and for the hotel business. His booking software is on its way to becoming as commonly used as the aircraft maintenance software, and his hotel reservation system enabled many hotels to shift to the world’s first PC based architecture. Still innovating, he produced a networked system to assist in selling tickets — another first for his resume.

He has been appointed to a number of capacities outside of software design, don’t forget. Responsible titles with American Airlines and American Express followed, and in the biggest move of all he set up a firm of his own seventeen years ago.
